I was really excited to try this volumizing dry shampoo because 1. I have grown to love/need/depend on dry shampoos and 2. My fine, flat hair always needs extra volume. To start, the packaging was beautiful and felt expensive. The scent was nice (I would say kind of a light floral scent) and it didn't leave me choking on it when spraying a hefty amount all over in a small bathroom.
I first used this on dry, 2nd day hair. My hair is fine and thin, so if I don't use dry shampoo or shower on the 2nd day, it looks like I swam in a pool of olive oil. Ok, maybe not that bad- but you get the picture. I sprayed it on and it has no color on my brunette hair. In fact, it made it look wet. Yes, even more wet than my olive oil slicked hair already looked. Ok, maybe I needed to shake it first. It doesn't say so on the directions, but i shake it and spray again. No color (like the white powdery substance that I'm used to) and my hair still looks wet. I keep getting ready to let it do it's magic.
I come back and massage it into my hair with my fingertips- all around the head, scalp, and brush it out. Really blend it in. It felt like a dry shampoo but with a bit of tackiness feeling. I'm assuming that is the voluminous part, because it felt a bit more like a texture spray than a dry shampoo. The end result, was I was hoping for more dry shampoo performance with a little texture but it turned out to be the opposite, in my opinion.
If you need a texture spray with very light dry shampoo qualities- i would recommend this. If you're looking for mostly a dry shampoo product, I don't think I would recommend this for fine or thin hair. Thicker hair may have a better result. I am going to keep trying it out as more of a texture spray and try using more or less product to see the difference. I would overall recommend, it just may not be the best product for my hair situation.
