Get a better cut with the groom me hair-cutting kit

Even if you’re not headed back to school, September can be the perfect time for an image refresh!

The trendy blunt bob is beginner friendly and can update your look for the season–and can cost less than a new outfit!

Pick up a pair of sharp shears

If you’ve tried your hand at a quarantine cut and it didn’t go well, it might have been your tools–not your skills! Take a second shot at a DIY haircut with the groom me hair-cutting kit. Beyond the two pairs of shears for cutting and thinning, the kit also includes four alligator clips to separate sections and two pairs of combs to aid you.

Use the groom me hair-cutting kit and a comprehensive tutorial to cut your hair. Avoid regret by cutting conservatively with the shears and assessing often.

Opt for blunt bangs

Clip back the front sections of your hair with the alligator clips and pull your bangs forward with a fine-toothed comb.

Avoid crooked bangs and a cruel growing out phase by cutting the section a little at a time.

Feeling a little lost? This bangs tutorial has pictures at every step to guide you to your best fringe yet!

And if it’s not what you envisioned? You can always remedy it with these hairstylist tips!

Style with a deep part

Deep side parts are trending right now and it’s a great way to add drama to your hair without doing too much.

Don’t have a favourite side? Try them both and check your angles to decide. Keep hair out of the face by tucking it under the ears or pinning it back.

Take this a step further with the cordless flat iron or convertible curling iron. Use the flat iron to create a softer look. Use the curling wand for more defined curls or waves.

Have a few flyaways? Keep your deep part neat by running the somewhat cooled curling iron barrel on the roots to push them down and finish with hairspray to keep them in place.

Go stealth with barely there waves

Barely there waves are a great way to add texture–and volume–to a blunt bob or any other hairstyle. It can be done with the convertible cordless curling iron, or our cordless hair straightener, in a pinch! Need some lift at the roots? Spray a bit of give me life dry shampoo on them to boost volume.

The cordless hair straightener's 1" plates is great for all lengths, including those with shorter hair. Take roughly 1” sections and alternate between curling hair towards your face and curling it away from your face.

Keep the curling iron attachment on the convertible cordless curling iron to create these undone waves. Play with the tension that you use with the barrel to create a looser wave on the outset.

If the curl is still too defined for your liking, use the wet/dry brush to tone it down and finish with hairspray!
