How to fight frizz and flat curls caused by rain
Get your umbrella out, Spring is here! And while the spring rain is great for your vegetable garden, it wrecks havoc on your hair.
Read on for our top 3 tips to avoid and bounce back from frizz and flat hair!
FRIZZ
Showers can make hair frizzy and puffy.
In transit, feel free to bring our Belisa by Lunata tools with you on the go–including our new Cordless Flat Iron–if you want to touch up while you’re out.
Once your hair is dry, our tools make it easy to touch up styles with a rapid heat time and built-in heatproof sleeve! Choose to go back to sleek styles with the Cordless Flat Iron or opt for loose waves.
WONKY CURLS
Rain can deflate curls or change the shape, stretching and transforming curls from bouncy to straggly.
Tackle wonky curls in the shower. If your hair is damaged or dry, reach for moisturizing shampoo and conditioner!
To prevent it from happening, don’t skimp on hairspray. When styling, make sure that you spray liberally once your curls have cooled down!
The Belisa Cordless Curling Wand or Cordless Curling Iron With Clip are perfect tools to take with you, if you want to refresh a style. And each tool comes with a silicone sleeve to protect the barrels and also act as a heat mat!
GET A NOURISHING HAIR ROUTINE
Healthy hair isn’t as susceptible to the damages of rain. If you want to repair your hair, start with your shower.
Look for ingredients in your styling products, shampoo, conditioner and hair treatments that will condition your hair.
Be on the lookout for glycerin–which gives a myriad of hair benefits like preventing split ends and deeply nourishes hair. Aloe vera is also a very nourishing ingredient to hair and your scalp.
When looking for oils–look for macadamia oil, sesame oil, sweet almond oil and olive oil. The fats in these oils can help repair damaged hair, but be careful. Some of these oils are quite heavy so use one that’s appropriate for the type of hair you have. If you have finer hair, try sweet almond oil, which won’t weigh your hair down!
USE PROTECTIVE HAIRSTYLES
Keep your hairstyles intact with a protective style like a French twist or low bun. Either style is a great option to keep your hair in good shape. Do it before you leave and unfurl when you get to your destination!
And don’t get caught in the rain–pack a few pins or clips to create the style on-the-go. Stash a few in your bag. Our Belisa Cordless Curling Wand and Cordless Curling Iron With Clip are also slim enough to take with you if you want to touch up while you’re out!
