Spring forward with a warm weather hair routine

Now that spring is here, it’s time for a few things to go: your winter jacket, your heavy clothes and your winter hair care routine are a few examples.

This spring is a unique one as most of us have daily life upended. But there are some things you can do while you wait for normalcy and the weather to get better.

  1. Swap your shampoo and conditioner.

If you went with heavier, creamier products to combat a winter walloping, then it’s time to consider switching to a lighter consistency. Summer brings its own set of unique problems, but if you’re constantly hitting the pool or the beach, it’s worth it to have a switch!

While you’re at it, incorporate scalp massages and treatments. Dandruff and flaky scalp can interrupt good hair days, so now is the time to start adding scalp scrubs and dandruff shampoo to combat all that shedding.

  1. Be your own stylist.

A visit to your stylist anytime soon is
unlikely to be in the cards. Luckily, there are YouTube tutorials in abundance, so watch a few until you’re comfortable cutting a few centimetres from your ends.

This simple change not only ushers in the new season with a cheap update; it’s a game changer that can level up your look with minimal effort. Don’t forget the bangs!

  1. Be prepared for April showers.

Have a rainy day backup plan for your hair. Our styler+ and cordless curling iron/wand can stow in your backpack, work tote or mommy bag.

While we’re not in the position to worry about random showers affecting your hairstyle, a portable cordless tool that can fix any mistakes on the go is a must! Keep this in mind for when you can finally leave the house and get back to a normal life.

  1. Consider swapping your hair mask for a hair serum.

You might not need to keep up with your winter mask habit with summer approaching. For some types–especially relatively normal or thick hair and fine hair–it might be too heavy for your strands to take.

Consider cutting down on the hair masks to every other week–or replacing them with a hair serum that gives you an extra dose of moisture, without weighing you down!

Another thing to think about? Extra humidity in the air can create frizzy conditions–a hair serum can help with that!

Together with our
styler+ or cordless curling iron/wand, a hair serum to prep the hair can cut down on frizz and fat hair.

  1. Wrangle your hair for warm weather workouts!

With warmer weather coming, it’s time to get your hair right! Sweep your hair up with a good detangling brush and great ties to get your hair outdoor exercise ready. Social distancing might have gotten in the way of your outdoor bootcamp–we’re sure you’re broken up about that–but don’t let it be your excuse!

Get some much-needed fresh air and exercise however you can in the warmer weather!
